Karaoke Catastrophe
Year 2015
Problem:
Honda faced the challenge of reinforcing the value of using genuine Honda spare parts amidst a market flooded with alternatives. The task was to create a campaign that not only highlighted the superior quality of original Honda parts but also established an emotional connection with Honda owners.
The Challenge
Our mission was to convey the message that ‘Original Honda Parts are the best,’ but we wanted to do it in a unique and memorable way.
The Creative Concept
Picture this: A guy at a karaoke bar attempting to impress a girl by singing the classic rock hit ‘Take On Me’ by A-ha. The catch? He can’t sing to save his life. The rendition is hilariously off-key, and he’s completely unaware of his lack of vocal talent.
The Story
Our protagonist, fueled by his enthusiasm and desire to impress, takes the stage with confidence. As he belts out the song, everyone in the bar cringes at the awful performance. The girl, trying her best to be polite, can’t help but smile awkwardly.
The Twist
The video ends with a shot of the Honda logo and the tagline: “No matter how much they insist, the originals are better. Original Honda Parts.”
Outcome
A humorous and memorable ad that leaves the audience with a clear message: when it comes to car parts, go for the originals – Repuestos Originales Honda.
